What It’s Like To Live In Co-Living Space

Co-living exactly means living off with many other people at the same time in one space that encourages all of them to interact and work together. Most oftenly they are runned by companies and they come up in response to a huge number of young people who come to new cities usually in search of work. So co-living is a type of new modern houses where people share their interests, intentions, and values and share a living space together where they almost live like a big family.Co-living is an atmosphere that is built on the concept of openness and collaboration, with people living there often sharing the same philosophical values. So here people usually have their own bedroom and bathroom but they share common areas like kitchen and living area. Also, the expenses are shared between all the residents living there, which makes it a more economical choice. The price that you pay for a co-living space is always cheaper than the traditional rent that you pay. Also to mention that this type of living areas are designed keeping young, working professionals in mind. This type of living is very common in urban areas, where people share a house, building or an apartment.

Here are some of the reasons why you should go for a co-living space :-

  1. Settling – We know that moving to a new place can be exciting but it can be scary as well at the same time. But if you end up with like-minded people and you get to share a home with them, you can live up really easily.
  2. Budget – If you choose to live in a co-living space, then you are no longer responsible for the utilities all by yourself. These kinds of spaces have different kinds of plans like those based on internet usage, TV watching and gas consumption from which the takers can choose from.

So with ths the concept of co-living involves other facilities as well such as common utility space, lounge area and also a common work area which everyone can share. This concept generally stems from the statistics point of view which points that a single working person spends barely three quarters of a hour in the day in the kitchen or in the living area while the time spent in the bedroom is on the average of 9 hours.

So as the rental cost of the bedroom is merely around 40 percent of the total share, it is evident to have less utilised spaces which are used by many people so that they can share the rentals, utilities and maintenance bills. The co-living places often aim to achieve that, while it also combines the spaces with added facilities and attractions such as housekeeping, laundries, entertainment and along with that security and repair and maintenance of the place.

Therefore, the concept appears to be too far-fetched to be implemented in the Indian context. Yet, the idea of co-living has caught on and it is increasing after the sort of facilities and convenience that it provides.
